Terror, Truth, Today, Tomorrow

1 Timothy 2:1-6
God desires all to be saved and know truth.
He is the only God

The news of the day is of the brutal murder of the Jordanian pilot.  The images are horrific and displayed for the purpose of evoking terror, and therefore submission to their agenda.  For those who maintain the Islamic faith, believing that it is a peaceful religion, I pray your eyes will be opened.   There are many faiths that proclaim they are worshiping God, but have been deluded.  They are believing a lie.   It is Satan's most successful ploy.  He uses lies to blind us from the truth.

While not the politically correct thing to say, it must be said.  There is only one God.  He is Jehovah, God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  He came to earth in the flesh as Jesus, our Messiah.  He died as payment for our sins, was buried and rose again from the dead.  All those who believe on Him will live with Him for eternity.  Those who do not will suffer eternal condemnation, in a burning lake of fire.  He is the only way to heaven.  The only way.

Please hear my heart.  It is not out of condemnation that I speak, but of concern for those believing this lie.   If you believe, trust, and obey, God Almighty, you will be saved from eternal Hell.  He paid with His life to give you yours.   Seek Him today.  Ask Him to show you the truth.  He alone is worthy of your trust.  If you have access to a Bible, read the New Testament book of John to see Him for who He is, and what He did for you.  Do not be deceived.  The Deceiver will try his best to turn the his lies into what seems right, so you will not believe the truth.

Father, our minds reel at the images of the slayings by those who profess they are acting in a holy mission.  We ask today that You open their eyes, soften their hearts, and make Yourself known to them.   You have told us that Your desire is that all be saved, so we speak the gospel of salvation, and trust Your Holy Spirit.  Strengthen those who are persecuted, and give boldness to us to be unashamed of Your gospel.  Help us to stand firm in the faith, and act according to Your will and desire.  Thank You for Your faithfulness to us.

2 Peter 3:9-18
Be diligent.  Be discerning about those who distort the truth.
Be on guard, grow in grace and knowledge of Jesus.

So, just as we are horrified by the gruesome images of the day, if we were allowed a glimpse into Hell, would it change how we live today?  Would it change how diligent we are to share the truth?
